
Heritage Institute of Technology
Founded in 2001, Heritage Institute of Technology (HIT) is located at Kolkata, West Bengal. It was established under Kalyan Bharti Trust, a public charitable foundation. Heritage Institute of Technology is an autonomous institute which is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), which was formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The campus of the institute is built in a tranquil surrounding with a backdrop of lush greenery, with classrooms are fitted with LCD projectors. It provides all the basic amenities such as its own electricity generator with two transformers, health care facility, computer centre, banks, postal facility, fire-fighting equipment, cafeteria, etc. It also houses common rooms (separately for boys and girls) equipped with indoor games facilities, namely, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, etc. along with the outdoor games and sports such as cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, golf, etc.
Heritage Institute of Technology conducts various workshops and seminars to provide exposure to the students. It also facilitates industrial visits to make them industry-ready. To combat anxiety, depression or any psychological relates issues and to make the best of their learning environment, the institute has set up its own counselling cell so that students can come for counselling whenever they feel related to any academic, personal or career related problems.
The institute has received the ‘Most Preferred Engineering Institute of 2020’ award from ASSOCHAM and was ranked at 150th position under Engineering category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2019.
